How old is this?

When I first started in the antiques business, many years ago, an antique was generally considered to be over 100 years old, with Victorian being the last antique period. But as time has passed and people have become interested in the Edwardian and Pre-war period and a fashion for 1950’s and 1960’s furniture and items has developed, the emphasis is not on age so much as quality, style and design.

Therefore the most frequently asked question is no longer “how old is this?”
