Simply stunning late 19th Century library desk made in the Chippendale style. The top has gadrooned edges and leather inserts. There is a central lift up book rest with adjustable heights. There are four drawers in the front two large, two small each sporting brass handles that frame the kneehole. The kneehole measures 52cm wide by 62cm high. The desk has cabriole legs with carved upper arcs that finish with claw on ball feet. Made of mahogany this piece has a lovely rich red blush colour that's warm and inviting with intricate carvings and so many little finishing touches, this would make a wonderful addition to any home or office.
The photos do not do this piece justice and to really appreciate this item a viewing could always be arranged.

Imperfectly perfect with some wear and tear to the top and needs a little tender loving care in places. Please check the photos I've highlighted the marks found. One edge of the leather insert is a little loose and has lifted slightly. The leather is marked but personally I think it give this piece a more rugged look with character and charm.
