A rare American interest blue and white bowl commemorating the life of Elijah Parish Lovejoy who was a Presbyterian minister journalist newspaper editor and publisher. He began to denouncing slavery from his pulpit and his newspaper before being assassinated on 7th November 1837. Elijah Lovejoy was the first martyr to American Liberty.
