Here we have the remnants of Wolverhampton & its environs book published in 1880 containing 48 original etchings on copper by John Fullwood a Birmingham painter and etcher of landscapes. John Fullwood studied in Birmingham and Paris and showed his work in both London and Birmingham. In the 1870s Wolverhampton was set to modernise some of the local area and John Fullwood recorded them before demolition took place many of his etchings are included in this wonderful book. John Fullwood died at Twickenham on 9th September, 1931, at the age of 76. He was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and one of the oldest members of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. Ten of the etchings included are listed below. 1.
